Our Saint Vincent Medical Group Surgical Oncologist is a dual fellowship trained surgeon who has a Complex Cancer Surgery Fellowship and a Breast Surgery Fellowship. She has spent her entire career focused on providing the highest quality surgical care to cancer patients by aligning patient goals of care with evidence-based medicine and surgery. She is interested in patient-centered compassionate surgical care to ensure patients feel both supported and competently cared for throughout their surgical journey.

Our surgeon diagnoses, treats or remove tissues or organs where cancerous tumors might develop or have developed. These include the areas of:

• Breast
• Colorectal
• GI Cancer
• Melanoma

Our surgeon is trained in surgical procedures that include:

• Biopsies – removing a small piece of tissue to determine if cancer is present
• Tumor staging – determining the severity of the cancer and extent to which it has spread
• Tumor removal – surgically removing the cancerous tumor and surrounding tissue
• Reconstruction – surgically repairing or replacing the area affected by the removal of the cancerous tissue

When to See a Surgeon for Oncology Related Surgery?

Your primary care physician or your medical oncologist, a physician who specializes in treating cancer with drugs and oversees all aspects of your cancer care, may refer you to our team. Treatment plans may also include radiation and/or chemotherapy in addition to surgery. Because cancer surgery is typically complex, many surgical oncologists specialize in management of more than one type of cancer. You also may see a radiation oncologist if your care includes radiation treatment.
