Orthopedic Spine Surgeon


Kevin DiSilvestro, MD, focuses on minimally invasive, motion-preserving spine surgery.  His advanced surgical training in spine surgery allows him to bring his techniques to Worcester.  Dr. DiSilvestro’s passion for spine surgery comes from his desire to help patients treat their pain and return to the activities that they love.  Several of his family members have required spine surgery, giving him a nuanced understanding of the patient perspective that enhances his approachable nature as a surgeon.


Dr. DiSilvestro believes in the importance of teamwork in patient care.  At the forefront of that team is the patient, who benefits from shared decision-making with their care team.  He works closely with his colleagues in physical therapy and interventional pain medicine to deliver the full spectrum of treatment strategies to his patients.  Dr. DiSilvestro’s approach is designed to ;provide successful long-term outcomes with improved short-term recovery. 


He operates by utilizing a tubular retractor and microscope to access the spine with minimal disruption to the soft tissue, while other surgeons may use open and exposed procedures.
